Beaches closed in San Jose del Cabo due to Sharks

Authorities of the Federal Terrestrial Maritime Zone (Zofemat) of the municipality, announced through social networks the temporary closure of the beach of San José del Cabo called La Playa, due to the presence of a shark.

For his part, Erick Santillán, director of Civil Protection of Los Cabos, announced that the beach was indeed closed, hoping that this limitation only lasts a few hours.

“In the internal part of the beach, in the community of La Playita, there is a shark-like species that has affected other fish, since PRI bitten fish were found in this animal.”

He explained that this specimen is on the side of the buoys of the Playita, so it was proceeded to close the beach from that moment and place surveillance on the site, with the support of the National Guard and Public Security, Zofemat. and Civil Protection.

He concluded by saying that when this animal moves away from the beach and enters open waters, then the authority may open the Playita.

“So it is important that the community is alert, it is rare to find this type of marine species, but it is not impossible, so it is important to safeguard the physical integrity of people.”
