Los Cabos, Baja California Sur (September 11th, 2020).- A 38-year-old American tourist died drowned on a beach located in the community of Migriño, located next to the highway that connects the city of Cabo San Lucas with the town of Todos Santos.
According to reports from local police authorities, the American traveler had entered the local beach to cool off, however, he was surprised by a strong current that pulled him out to sea, losing his life moments later due to the powerful storm surge of water that sank him to the bottom, preventing him from breathing, causing his lungs to collapse.
After the emergency report made by inhabitants of the port of Migriño, paramedics and civil protection elements from the region arrived at the accident site, who verified that the person who was lying face down on the coast no longer had vital signs. They determined the event was death by submersion.
Once taken to the mainland, ministerial authorities ordered the traveler’s body to be transferred to Servicio Médico Forense SEMEFO in order to carry out the corresponding tests and officially rule on the cause of death.
The name of the deceased has not been revealed by the authorities.
