Los Cabos receives inaugural flights from Austin, Sacramento, and New York

Araiza López highlighted that winter is the highest season for the sector

Los Cabos, Baja California Sur.- “Los Cabos is recovering with great force its international tourism potential,” said the Secretary of Tourism, Economy and Sustainability (SETUES), Luis Humberto Araiza López, after announcing that the destination received the arrival of three new flights from the United States, operated by American Airlines.

The official explained that these are direct flight routes that connect the southern Californian port with the cities of Austin, Texas; Sacramento, California (both on a weekly basis); and New York (daily flights); which will allow BCS to have a good end of the year, by increasing the flow of foreign tourists to the entity during the month of December.

In this sense, Araiza López highlighted that winter is the highest season for the sector, so the launch of these new flights will contribute to the economic reactivation of BCS, in addition to strengthening the presence of the State in the neighboring country, which he recalled, is the main tourist and commercial partner of the entity.

“We have good projections that indicate that we will close the year with very good numbers; and that we will also start 2021 with the same dynamism. The opening of these new flights in Los Cabos; added to those of La Paz and Loreto, they confirm the message that Baja California Sur is a safe and reliable destination ”, he added.

The head of SETUES thanked American Airlines for investing in BCS, and recognized this company as a great ally in the development of tourism in the State.

Finally, Luis Araiza reported that as of June 2021, Los Cabos will have daily departures from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and Los Angeles International Airport, with the Jets Blue airline.
