Covid-19 vaccine arrives in Baja California Sur

After the Government of Mexico in a morning conference announced the arrival of 439 thousand 725 vaccines against the Covid-19 virus, at approximately 9:10 p.m. this Tuesday, they arrived at the Military Air Base No. 9 in La Paz Baja California Sur, 2 boxes with 9,750 doses of vaccines, which will be distributed throughout the state.

The doses will be assigned to the 16 Covid hospitals, to make way for the first stage of vaccination, which includes the personnel who are directly attending the Covid areas, as they are the group of people who have the highest risk of contagion, due to their permanent exposure to the virus, with this, having the Covid care units fully protected.

This first stage includes not only doctors and nurses, but also 11 working categories of workers, who are physically in the premises with infected patients, as reported by the Undersecretary of Health Hugo López-Gatell Ramírez, who indicated that it is expected to finish the The goal of vaccination of health personnel on January 31 and once covered, immediately, phase two will begin, which includes the vaccination of older adults, which is expected to reduce mortality from Covid to 80%.

Finally, the undersecretary of health stressed that vaccines have no capacity to cause Covid, because they are made of specific virus particles and not the complete virus as such, which is why he invites the general public not to refuse to the application of the same since this is the only way to protect the health of the population.
