Los Cabos, the destination least affected by the suspension of flights from Canada

The Canadian market that reaches Los Cabos represents 6% of the total arrivals to Mexico

San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur. Recently, international publications presented the results of an analysis on the effects on tourist destinations in Mexico that have had the suspension of flights from Canada to Mexico, a measure that came into effect in the
last days of January and will tentatively end on April 30, this if the Covid-19 pandemic decreases.


Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico City, Los Cabos, Huatulco, Mazatlán, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo and Cozumel are the eight destinations most affected by the Canadian government measure.

Although the Canadian market is important for the destination of Los Cabos, this suspension of arrivals has not represented as severe a drop as expected. In fact, Cancun concentrates half of all Canadian tourists who arrive in Mexico.

For Los Cabos, in 2019, the best year for tourism in Mexico, Canadian tourists represented only 12 percent of international visitors who enter the destination by air
