Important cultural projects for Los Cabos are approved

Los Cabos.– During the 4th ordinary session of the Governing Board of the Institute of Culture and the Arts of the Municipality of Los Cabos (ICA), the Annual Operational Plan (POA) 2021 was approved, which includes the projects to be carried out Among those that stand out: the celebration of the 300 Years of the Santiago Mission Foundation, the Los Cabos Arts Week and improvements to the Natural History Museum in Cabo San Lucas; Likewise, the adaptation of “La Cultura Mueve” was approved: support for scenic spaces.


It should be noted that each project includes various activities for the benefit of the artistic community, for example: within the framework of the celebration of the Santiago Mission Foundation, a documentary will be presented that tells the story of rural women, as well as a radio soap opera which refers to the development of the delegation; Likewise, the general rehabilitation of the House of Culture of Santiago will be carried out, since that is where the commemorative festivities for the 300 years of its foundation will be held.


From June 14 to 20 of the current year, through the Los Cabos Arts Week, the visual arts will be promoted through various exhibitions of works outside the Cultural Pavilion of the Republic and in the Art Gallery from Cabo San Lucas.

It will also be working in coordination with different municipal agencies, to optimize the Natural History Museum located in Cabo San Lucas; Among the improvements to be made, the rehabilitation of lights stands out as well as the coordinated work with the Autonomous University of Baja California Sur (UABCS) for the translation of technical sheets and the creation of rotated cards.


To conclude, it is highlighted that next month the call for the adaptation of the project “La Cultura Mueve” will be launched, which will seek to benefit 15 cultural spaces.
