LA PAZ AIRPORT IS EXPECTED TO CLOSE 2021 WITH MORE THAN 900 THOUSAND VISITORS

La Paz , Baja California Sur .- In order to report progress, the Pacific Airport Group (GAP) held the 2021 Consultative Commission of the La Paz International Airport, in the presence of municipal, state and federal authorities.

During the event, five-year investments 2020-2024 were presented for an amount greater than 300 million pesos. In 2021 alone, the GAP invests 100 million pesos in the expansion and modernization of the La Paz International Airport.

Investments include platform works, projects to comply with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards and equipment that allows optimizing airport security and operations, such as the baggage classification system that will check all baggage documented through X-rays.

For her part, Paola Olivo Moreno, administrator of the La Paz International Airport, reported that a state-of-the-art equipment will be implemented, since manual reviews have been in the past with specialized reviews in which passengers’ suitcases are not opened. .

“If passenger traffic continues as it has been in the previous months, 921 thousand passengers will be reached. If we achieve this, this year we would close it as the second or third best year in the history of the airport ”, he assured.
