Roberto managed to reach Hermosillo, Sonora, before running out of resources to continue his journey.

San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur. Roberto Vaughan Ordaz left from South Californian lands last August, with the sole purpose of meeting relatives in Oaxaca; together with his 16 pets, the man travels the country on a tricycle.

Roberto, is a 47-year-old man originally from the state of Veracruz, but a resident of Los Cabos for years; in the company of five dogs, he decided to start a trip on his only means of transport, a tricycle.

In a video released by “El Imparcial”, the man said that 10 years ago he rescued the first dog and although only five accompanied him on his journey, “I have been picking them up from the garbage, tied up, abandoned on the road and now he recognizes himself as “The lord of the dogs”.

A few days ago, he arrived in Hermosillo, Sonora, after traveling more than 800 kilometers of road; but he has remained in the same place because his tricycle was damaged, preventing him from continuing his way to Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca.

“The only thing I ask of all of us as Mexicans is that we have a little empathy, they only need food, home, love and that they are not abandoned,” said the lord of the dogs.

He added that he has received little support from the local citizens in that state, however he will continue his way to Oaxaca, to put a sanctuary for dogs.

Until the last update, Roberto was located on the Hermosillo-Guaymas highway, at kilometer 249, at the height of the colony “Los Altares”; he called on the citizens to support him with basic supplies for him and food for his dogs.
