Starting on November 20 of this year, La Paz, Baja California Sur, will be connected to Los Angeles, California, by a flight operated by Alaska Airlines with two weekly frequencies, as announced by the governor of Baja California Sur, Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío, during a meeting with the media.
Regarding the route, it will be covered by an Embraer 175 aircraft with capacity for 76 passengers. The flights will depart on Wednesdays and Saturdays from Los Angeles at 10:45 a.m., arriving in La Paz at 2:12 p.m. On the return trip, they will leave La Paz at 3:02 p.m., landing in Los Angeles at 4:41 p.m. Starting in 2025, the frequency will increase to three weekly flights: Monday, Friday and Saturday.
The head of Tourism in the state, Maribel Collins, reported that during the first five months of 2024, 233,500 passengers were registered, an increase of 9.6% compared to the same period in 2023. The governor highlighted the importance of Baja California Sur being included in the airline’s destinations, as this will strengthen the arrival of tourists from both the neighboring country to the north and from other parts of the world to this capital.
