Los Cabos will reach 900 flights per week with new routes

With eight new routes, seven national and one international this year, Los Cabos is consolidating itself as one of the most important tourist destinations in Mexico.

The Municipal Tourism Office of Los Cabos stated that as a result of the agreements reached during the Tianguis Turístico de México 2024, held in Mexico City, Volaris, Aeroméxico and Viva Aerobús will offer direct flights from Monterrey, Guadalajara, Querétaro, León, Tijuana, Mérida and Puebla.

Meanwhile, on the international level, the direct route from Frankfurt, Germany, managed by Cóndor Flugdienst, will be opened, which will begin in November with a frequency of twice a week, facilitating the arrival of European tourists, which reinforces the strategy of positioning Los Cabos as a global destination.

FLIGHT FREQUENCY AND AIR GROWTH

Currently, Los Cabos receives an average of 130 daily flights, of which 85 are domestic and 45 are international. With the new routes, an increase in frequency is expected, exceeding 900 weekly flights.

This increase in connectivity not only boosts tourism, but also boosts the local economy, generating opportunities in sectors such as transportation, hospitality and complementary tourist services, the agency highlighted.

GROWING INTERNATIONAL CONNECTIVITY

Throughout 2024, Los Cabos International Airport has consolidated its international connectivity with more than 300 direct weekly flights from 30 airports in the United States, including cities such as Los Angeles, Dallas, Phoenix, Baltimore, Las Vegas and Milwaukee, operated by airlines such as American Airlines, Delta Airlines, United Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Frontier Airlines and Spirit Airlines.

In addition, from Canada, cities such as Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver are connected through WestJet, Air Canada and Sunwing Airlines, while the next route from Frankfurt, Germany, reaffirms Los Cabos’ commitment to attract more European tourists.

ECONOMIC IMPACT AND TOURISM PROJECTION

Tourism in Los Cabos continues to be one of the main economic drivers of the region.

In 2023, Los Cabos received more than 4 million visitors, and it is projected that in 2024 this figure will be surpassed with the opening of new routes and the growing interest of national and international tourists.

The preference for Los Cabos has generated a positive economic impact, boosting sectors such as hotels, transportation and recreational activities.

INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION AND FUTURE PROJECTS

Thanks to its attractive tourist offer, Los Cabos has been named the Best Destination in Mexico in the twenty-first edition of Travel Weekly’s Readers Choice Awards, in addition to having obtained 18 additional awards in 2023.

With this momentum, the destination continues to work closely with airlines and tour operators to continue expanding its air connectivity network and strengthen its position as a world-class destination.
