More than 37 thousand foreign vehicles have already been regularized under the decree, which is now extended for two more years.
Following the announcement of the extension of the decree for the regularization of foreign vehicles, the Directorate of the Public Vehicle Registry (REPUVE) confirmed that the decree was extended until September 30, 2026, so this process will continue in the five official modules established.
In this regard, the director of the Public Vehicle Registry (REPUVE), José Mariano Espino del Castillo Barrón, reported that the terms of the decree remain the same, so those vehicles, 2018 or older models, that begin their numerical series with numbers 1 to 5 or with a letter and that have entered the country before October 19, 2021, may be regularized.
He recalled that to carry out this procedure, it is important that the owner present the original American title or invoice, a letter under protest of telling the truth, official identification, valid driver’s license, CURP, proof of address and payment of import for the amount of 2,500 pesos and that the windshield of the vehicle is not damaged.
Mariano Espino reported that to date, 37,543 vehicles have been regularized in the entity, hoping that in this expansion more vehicle units will be regularized and integrated into the registry and in this way, have a more up-to-date record of the cars that circulate in the state.
Finally, he reminded people that to make an appointment they can go with their vehicle to the vehicle regularization modules, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The website www.regularizaauto.sspc.gob.mx is available, as is the telephone number 800 737 88 33, where they can be informed of the procedure, location and necessary requirements.
