Early this Sunday, June 8, the lifeless body of a man was found in a dirt road that connects Aguajitos and Padre Nicolás Tamaral boulevards in the Brisas del Pacífico neighborhood of Cabo San Lucas.
The case is already being investigated by the State Attorney General’s Office (PGJE), which confirmed the opening of a case for intentional homicide.
The discovery occurred shortly before 3:00 a.m. when a member of the State Public Security Secretariat reported the presence of a body lying in the dirt road known as El Aguajito, triggering a police mobilization in the area.
Preliminary information indicated that the victim showed signs of torture and possible gunshot wounds.
Upon arriving at the scene, investigative agents and forensic experts located a man approximately 30 years old, of robust build and dark complexion, with his face covered by a black cloth and stones on top of the body. He was wearing a gray T-shirt and blue jeans.
The scene was cordoned off for the collection of evidence, which was sent to the forensic laboratory. The body was taken to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo), where a legal autopsy will be performed.
Unofficially, an image began circulating showing the body with several printed sheets of paper taped to its back, presumably containing screenshots of a WhatsApp conversation. Although authorities have not confirmed this information as part of the case, the scene suggests that the discovery could be linked to an intentional message.
So far, the State Attorney General’s Office has not commented on the content of these sheets or their relationship to the ongoing investigation.
The victim remains unknown. The PGJE confirmed that the case is in the hands of the Specialized Unit for the Investigation of Intentional Homicide, which is already working to clarify the facts and locate the possible perpetrator(s).
