During the patrols, beachgoers, visitors, and street vendors were removed from the coastline as a preventative measure against the effects of the weather phenomenon.
“Following instructions, we implemented this operation to protect people’s lives. Everyone has been asked to leave in a peaceful and orderly manner. Safety is paramount; these types of actions are part of the protocols for responding to hydrometeorological phenomena,” reported Carlos Alberto León Avilés, Civil Protection Delegation Coordinator in Cabo San Lucas.
Hugo de Jesús Castro Amador, Civil Protection Delegation Administrative Coordinator, emphasized the importance of working together during these types of events.
“We are following the instructions of the mayor and the delegate to act responsibly. We are patrolling the beaches, removing people, and checking risk areas. We ask the public to stay informed and not let their guard down,” Castro Amador said.
Authorities urged the public to continue to heed official announcements and avoid entering the sea or remaining on the beach area while the effects of the tropical cyclone persist. The operation was coordinated in conjunction with the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone (Zofemat), covering Riu, Breathless, Corsario, 8 Cascadas, El Médano beaches, and the Migriño area.
