Yesterday, Friday, Tropical Storm Ivo, the first tropical storm of its kind this year to make its impact felt in Southern California, brought an afternoon of rain to virtually the entire city of La Paz and various areas of the state, as it is now moving away from the peninsula.
Ivo is moving west-northwestward, away from the Mexican coast. Despite this, its circulation and cloud formations maintain the likelihood of rain, showers, and high waves in Baja California Sur, reported the National Meteorological Service.
At 9 a.m. (Central Mexico Time), Tropical Storm Ivo was located 360 kilometers southwest of Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, packing sustained winds of 95 km/h (59 mph) with gusts of up to 110 km/h (68 mph), moving west-northwest at 9 km/h (5 mph).
Ivo Forecast for Baja California Sur
Ivo is expected to bring rain and showers (5 to 25 mm), mostly in the afternoon, and waves of 1.5 to 2.5 meters high along the southern coast of Baja California Sur, from 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, to 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 10.
