Authorities in Baja California Sur have announced new fees and validity periods for driver’s licenses issued to motorists within the state.

What are the new driver’s license fees in Baja California Sur?

According to the Baja California Sur Secretariat of Finance and Administration, as part of an amendment to Article 27 of the state’s Law on Fees and Products, new costs and validity periods—spanning one, three, or up to six years—will be established for the issuance of driver’s licenses.

As published in the Official Gazette of the Government of Baja California Sur on May 14, 2026, the fees for a chauffeur’s license will be as follows:

700 pesos for a one-year validity period
1,502 pesos for three years
2,702 pesos for six years

For a standard driver’s license (automovilista), the costs will be:

500 pesos for one year
901 pesos for three years
1,622 pesos for six years

And for a motorcycle license, the fees will be:

300 pesos for one year
732 pesos for three years
1,318 pesos for six years

What about replacements for theft or loss?

Additionally, Baja California Sur authorities indicate that for license replacements due to theft or loss—specifically for three-year licenses—a 50% discount will be applied during the first year.

In the case of six-year licenses, this same discount will be applied during the first two years.

After this initial period, they explain, the discount in both cases will be 30% for the remainder of the license’s validity period.

Finally, local authorities reminded the state’s motorists that payments can be made via the official Government of Baja California Sur web portal, at service kiosks, as well as at the 25 tax collection offices distributed across the state’s five municipalities.
