Baja California Sur’s Gastronomy Continues to Strengthen Its Presence in the MICHELIN Guide Selection 2026

The gastronomy of Baja California Sur (BCS) continues to strengthen as one of the region’s major tourist attractions, once again standing out in the MICHELIN Guide Selection 2026. This recognition reflects the quality, creativity, and talent of those who make up the state’s gastronomic sector, said the Secretary of Tourism and Economy (SETUE), Maribel Collins, during the plaque presentation ceremony for the world’s most recognized culinary selection guide.

She emphasized that these recognitions highlight the talent of local people and the great moment that Baja California Sur’s gastronomy is experiencing. This high-end cuisine not only positions Baja California Sur before Mexico and the world, but also creates jobs, supports local product purchases, and promotes sustainability, generating benefits that reach more families and communities throughout the state, she stated.

In this edition, Cocina de Autor Los Cabos, led by chef Francisco Sixtos, was awarded a MICHELIN Star; while Acre and Flora’s Field Kitchen, both located in San José del Cabo, received the MICHELIN Green Star, which recognizes establishments committed to sustainable gastronomic practices.

Likewise, Cocina de Campo by Agricole, in Pescadero; Flora’s Field Kitchen, in San José del Cabo; and Metate, in Cabo San Lucas, received the Bib Gourmand distinction, which recognizes culinary proposals with an outstanding balance between quality and price.

The 2026 selection also includes among the MICHELIN recommendations the restaurants Acre, Al Pairo at Solaz, Árbol, Benno, CarbónCabrón, Comal, Dūm, LIMO Heritage Kitchen at Suelo Sur, Los Tres Gallos, Lumbre, Manta, Mezcal, Nao, Nemi —which is included in the MICHELIN Guide for the first time—, Omakai, Oystera, Ruba’s Bakery, and Tenoch by Paradero, restaurants located in Los Cabos, La Paz, and Todos Santos.

Maribel Collins highlighted that the presence of establishments from different destinations in Baja California Sur demonstrates the diversity of an offering that combines local products, creativity, identity, and high-level experiences, also contributing to strengthening productive chains and generating opportunities for communities.

“Gastronomy is a fundamental part of the tourism experience and also an important generator of well-being. From the State Government, we will continue working together with the sector so that this international recognition translates into greater promotion, more visitors, and more opportunities for families in Baja California Sur,” she concluded.
