Tropical depression could leave rains in Los Cabos and La Paz

June 29th 2020

A low pressure with 50% potential to be a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours is located south of Cabo San Lucas

According to the Metmex Baja California Sur forecast , a tropical wave associated with a low pressure with 50% potential to be a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours is located south of Cabo San Lucas, which represents a possible formation of a Tropical depression.

The models indicate that the effects in Baja California Sur will depend on this possible tropical system gaining intensity, if it manages to be a Tropical Depression it will generate more clouds and storms near the center of the east and with its movement to the West-Northwest it will be able to enter a zone of strong winds at height that runs over Los Cabos and La Paz.

This may occur largely on June 30 and July 1, and could also trigger local thunderstorms in the Sierra de la Laguna and Sierra de la Giganta areas. The rain includes the cities of Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo and La Paz, in addition to all the populations and communities in those municipalities.

It is important to emphasize that the expected rain will not be torrential and will not put daily activities at risk, it is only recommended to take precautions when driving on wet pavement, possible puddles or reduced visibility.
