Los Cabos hoteliers expect 45% occupancy at Easter (Semana Santa)

Through a statement, the Hotel Association reiterates that they will put into practice strict protocols that give certainty to collaborators and guests in the next holiday season

One year after starting the precautionary measures against the pandemic that faces the world since the end of 2019 and despite the uncertainty that has seized the entire world, with an improvement in the situation due to the application of vaccines against covid-19, Los Cabos is preparing for the tourist season of Easter, privileging the reinforcement of sanitary measures to avoid increasing infections.

This was reported by the Los Cabos Hotel Association ( AHLC ) in a statement, which highlights that this year that has been overcome, it taught everyone to be resilient, correct habits, improve operating protocols, and be innovative.

The traditional economy was transformed and the way of vacationing evolved, Los Cabos especially a first-class destination in which the majority of the population depends on tourism, showed strength by remaining latent despite the prolonged closure of the quarantine and has been an example in the reopening of hotels by putting into practice strict protocols that give certainty to its collaborators and guests.

The Executive President of the Los Cabos Hotel Association, Lilzi Orcí, mentioned that the destination once again shows a constant recovery, it is predicted that during Spring Break an average occupancy percentage of 34 percent will be recorded, with a peak of up to 46 percent, a figure that marks a trend in occupancy, this reaffirms that the recovery is on the right track.

Likewise, it is forecast that during the Easter holiday period it will have an average occupancy percentage of 41 percent, with a peak of up to 45 percent. Certainly, these figures are low when compared to past years, but today they are a great achievement achieved thanks to the coordination of private initiatives with authorities and the good practices adopted.

In addition, there is a notable 15 percent increase in available seats from the United States for the next 6 months compared to the same period last year, he added.

Once again Los Cabos shows that the coordination of all the collaborators of the companies that are part of the tourist value chain of the destination is reflected in satisfied visitors and willingness to return.
