Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta exceeded Cancun hotel occupancy, as reported by the Federal Tourism Secretary (Sectur); Los Cabos being the most visited destination in Mexico in the last week of March, reaching 58.1% occupancy.

For its part, Puerto Vallarta reached a hotel occupancy of 50.5%, while Cancun reached 49.8%. However, Cancun registered the highest number of tourists during the last week of March, since the occupancy percentage (49.8%) corresponds to 19,222 occupied rooms, as it has the largest hotel offer in the country. Los Cabos offers 11,620 rooms of which 58.1% were occupied.

As reported by REPORTUR.mx, at the international level during the Easter season, the hotel occupancy registered in Punta Cana was 71.3%, surpassing that of Cancun, which at the time projected measurement of approximately 65.1%. However, in the Dominican Republic, the influx of American tourists stood out, while the arrival of Europeans to Cancun.

According to the Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council (CPTQ), in addition to the arrival of visitors from the United States and the domestic market, there was a large presence of Europeans, thanks to the great air connection that the Mexican Caribbean has, now with flights from Madrid and Lisbon, in addition to those already existing from Paris, Poland, Frankfurt, London.
