1st Annual Sport Fishing Forum 2023 held in Los Cabos

This meeting seeks to create strategies for the care and preservation of fishing in Baja California Sur.

This morning the first Annual Sport Fishing Forum 2023 was inaugurated in the Cabo San Lucas delegation, this event aims to generate better public policies that guarantee the care, conservation, and preservation of sustainable fishing in Baja California Sur, and to achieve positive effect is on the economy of the people who work at sea.

The delegate from Cabo San Lucas, Raymundo Zamora Ceseña expressed that as the Municipal Government together with the Government of Baja California Sur they will continue promoting strategies to strengthen the economy of Los Cabos.

  “The instruction of President Oscar Leggs Castro is that we work hand in hand with the various sectors to propose ideas that guarantee benefits to the citizen’s economy, and we know that as a tourist destination this type of work is essential,” said Zamora Ceseña.

Likewise, the mayor stressed that the XIV Administration intends to always support the socio-environmental situation for the care and conservation of the environment, as well as the sustainability of endemic marine species, specifically the picudo and dorado, which were previously not considered crucial for the tourist-economic development of the Cabeño municipality.

This first forum also included the participation of the Governor of Baja California Sur; Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío, who was in charge of inaugurating the event, he stressed that, through the defense and conservation of marine members, the aim is to reseed the Pacific Ocean that years ago had been neglected, and through sport fishing activity, this type of activity endorsed fundamental actions throughout the geography of the state.
