Restaurants report sales up to 70% this season

Two weeks before the spring break season begins in Los Cabos, a significant influx of visitors can be seen, especially in the beach area. El Médano in Cabo San Lucas is one of the busiest for these young students, which especially benefits the occupancy of the restaurants located there.

“The first week was a bit slow, the second week a stronger group started, this weekend has been busy, this weekend and last weekend, as I said, we had it packed.”

The good weather, the wide variety of activities available on this beach, its cuisine, and other attractions attract these young tourists, generating significant economic benefits for providers.

“It’s very good. We’re starting the season. We hope to improve sales, with more people. For now, we’re doing well, at 70.75 percent.”

This long weekend, which coincides with spring break, hotel occupancy is reported at 83%. However, some people expect their sales to increase by up to 90% by the end of this month.

“We hope more people arrive next week, and we hope to be packed during the last two weeks of spring break. We’re expecting 80 or 90 percent by the end of the month, I think.”

For now, authorities are reporting a clean slate, and both during the day on beaches and tourist areas, and at night, a security operation is in place in Cabo San Lucas’s nightlife to safeguard residents and visitors.
