A natural phenomenon is recorded at the popular Arch, attracting hundreds of visitors, but authorities warn it is dangerous.

Every four or five years, the beach beneath the Arch reappears as a result of low tide and the deposit of sand sediment.

However, it is warned that strong waves can hit the beach at any time and impact those on the beach against the Arch’s rocks.

Tourists are trying to enter (through the Pacific), but the land is not yet complete,” emphasized Luis Ramón Cárdenas, Fonmar coordinator in Los Cabos.

The Port Captain has already announced that it is prohibited for boats to disembark people to walk on the beach beneath the Arch of Cabo San Lucas.

A black flag has even been posted.

If any boat is caught disembarking people, they will be fined accordingly,” explained María Josué Navarro, head of the Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park Office.

Tourists are urged to enjoy the natural phenomenon from afar, safely from boats.

On October 2, two people were trapped on the beach beneath the Cabo San Lucas Arch.

Members of the Navy rescued the tourists and brought them to a safe harbor.
