The mayor of La Paz, Milena Quiroga Romero, participated in the 5th March for Inclusion in Baja California Sur (BCS), as a demonstration of her administration’s commitment to building an inclusive society that respects the rights of all.

During her participation, the mayor highlighted the importance of promoting equality in all spaces and sectors: “It is important to raise awareness. We must be an inclusive society, both in education and in the workplace. As we guarantee inclusion in all areas, we will have a more egalitarian and respectful society, but, above all, a more aware one.”

More than 2,000 people joined the march, held in conjunction with International Cerebral Palsy Day, commemorated every October 6th. The route began in Cuauhtémoc Park and concluded at the boardwalk kiosk. Families, representatives from the municipal and state governments, and people with disabilities, syndromes, neurodivergences, and autism participated, all wearing green as a symbol of unity.

Quiroga Romero emphasized that the responsibility for building a more inclusive society falls on each individual and reaffirmed that her administration will continue to promote actions that strengthen inclusion with programs, projects, and initiatives that support and promote it.

Mayor Milena Quiroga also recognized the efforts of Jorge Alberto Vale Sánchez, head of the Southern California Institute for the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (ISIPD), and thanked him for inviting her to the event.

“Inclusion is a right; inequality only creates gaps, and equality unites us as a society,” concluded Quiroga Romero.
