Several destinations and experiences in Baja California Sur have been nominated for the 2026 edition of the “Best of Mexico” awards, a competition that recognizes the country’s top tourist attractions and is celebrating its eighth edition this year with 12 categories.

This year, the state is participating in six categories, with proposals ranging from beaches and “Pueblos Mágicos” (Magical Towns) to nature experiences, luxury, and internationally renowned sporting events.

Among the nominations, Playa Cerritos stands out in the Best Beach to Discover category, while Todos Santos is nominated for Best Magical Town to Celebrate a Wedding, solidifying its position as one of the state’s most iconic destinations.

In the high-end tourism segment, Loreto is competing for Best Luxury and Wellness Experience, a category that evaluates offerings focused on relaxation, exclusive services, and immersion in nature.

Guerrero Negro, for its part, was nominated in the category of Best Hidden Gem Destination, an award that seeks to highlight sites with rich natural and cultural heritage that remain off the beaten tourist track.

In addition to specific destinations, the state was also nominated for experiences that are part of its tourism identity. These include whale watching and a visit to the Arch of Cabo San Lucas, in the category of Best Experience to Have at Least Once in a Lifetime.

In the sports arena, the Baja 1000 race appears in the category of Best Sporting Event to Enjoy in a Stunning Setting, standing out for its history and the impact it has on the region.

According to information released by the State Tourism and Economy Secretariat, public participation is part of the process to determine the winners, so the invitation to vote remains open through the official competition platform, lomejordemexico.com.

The “Best of Mexico” awards have become a benchmark within the national tourism sector, bringing together destinations, experiences, and events that reflect the country’s diversity.

The results will be announced on April 29 at 6:00 p.m. during Tianguis Turístico México, considered one of the most important gatherings in the industry at both the national and international levels.

The awards ceremony will take place at the Forum Imperial in Acapulco, where representatives from the tourism sector, authorities, and service providers will meet to learn who the winners of this edition are.

With these nominations, Baja California Sur is positioning itself within the national competition across various tourism segments, showcasing offerings that encompass nature, culture, sports, and wellness.
