The Mexican Navy (SEMAR) reported that on April 26, naval personnel provided maritime and land security during the IRONMAN 70.3 International Triathlon held in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur.
The institution explained that during the swimming, cycling, and running competitions, a Rapid Response Vessel from the Naval Search, Rescue, and Maritime Surveillance Station (ENSAR) was deployed to prevent incidents and safeguard the participants.
Likewise, Marine Corps personnel conducted perimeter security operations during the competitions.
The operation, SEMAR detailed, marked the return of this event to Mexican shores after three years, and featured 1,300 professional athletes from various countries; naval personnel also participated in the competition.
