Los Cabos. – “Once again we raised the name of Los Cabos during the event organized by the Association of Local Authorities of Mexico (AALMAC) in Playa del Carmen, where we shared our experience and the strategies we implemented to lead a model municipality throughout the country” This was stated by the municipal president of Los Cabos, Armida Castro Guzmán, in the forum The Participation of Women in Public Life.
Through the active participation of all women, proposals are built for a country with greater equity, possibilities, and development, in that sense, accompanied by her homonymous Laura Beristain Navarrete, the mayor of Los Cabos, recalled how the municipality a few years ago It became one of the most violent in the country, however, as a result of excellent coordination between the institutions in charge of public security in the 3 orders of Government, currently, the destination remains in 2nd place in the country with the lowest perception of unsafety.
Likewise, the mayor recognized the effort and great work carried out by the Government of Los Cabos through the Municipal Coordination of Zofemat, to maintain the destination as the first municipality in Mexico to have 22 “Blue Flag” beaches and the first 5 beaches recognized by the Mexican Institute for Standardization and Certification (IMNC) with the “Platinum Beach” award.
In turn, and without neglecting the social part, the municipal president Armida Castro Guzmán, highlighted the development of the permanent efforts that the current Administration carries out with the federal government, to be able to start in a transparent way with the project of a new desalination plant in the Delegation of Cabo San Lucas and resolve definitively with the shortage of water for all families in the municipality.
Finally, in a very significant way, Castro Guzmán pointed out how last December – through public policies focused on inclusion and a gender perspective – the government of Los Cabos positioned itself as one of the first municipalities in the entire country to achieve Obtain the medal for inclusion “Gilberto Rincón Gallardo – Telethon 2020”, placing the tourist destination as a promoter of the rights of people with disabilities.
