Drug traffickers attack municipalities “shielded” by the BCS government

Recently, the State Governor, Víctor Castro Cosío, announced that both the State Public Security Secretariat and the State Attorney General’s Office were conducting operations to “calm down” the municipalities of northern Baja California Sur, and violence erupted.

At around 10:50 a.m. this Friday, August 1, a report of gunshots and a burning vehicle was received at a home in Villa Morelos, in the municipality of Comondú.

Authorities confirmed a car on fire and a house shot at on an unnamed street and the Transpeninsular Highway. This is the home owned by the Delegate of the town of Villa Morelos, María del Socorro Amarillas Márquez. Authorities are already investigating.

Also in the municipality of Mulegé, violence erupted this Friday afternoon. Authorities found the body of a dead man with signs of violence in a dirt road approximately 15 km from El Arco.

Meanwhile, during the early hours of Saturday, August 2, in the Miramar neighborhood of the municipality of Loreto, a father and son were shot around 3:00 a.m.

The attack occurred on A Street, between Pargos and Delfines in the neighborhood, leaving a young man between 16 and 18 years old dead, authorities said, as well as a 50-year-old man from Ciudad Constitución with multiple injuries.
