Gray Whale Festival Baja California Sur coming in January

The 22nd Gray Whale Festival takes place from January 29th to the 31st, in the municipality of Puerto López Mateos, Baja California Sur, and will include specials on whale watching tours, as well as games, althletic and cultural events.

This Community event seeks to promote tourism activities to strengthen the region’s economy.

Each year, Mexico becomes the host of one of the most fascinating migratory phenomena: the arrival of the gray whales.

After their 10,000 kilometers journey from the Bering Sea, the gray whales arrive during the winter to the warm waters of Mexico, along the Baja California Peninsula; a miracle of nature that can only be admired off these shores.

The Festival of the Gray Whale in Baja California Sur will be carried out in an online special edition.

Festival attendees used to be able to enjoy the fireworks and folkloric dance shows; as well as other ecotouristic activities, such as fishing or horseback riding, and obviously, not forgetting the whale watching tours to learn more about these fascinating creatures that make such a fantastic journey every year, but this year, everything will be different, the “new normal” makes us stay at home.
