Mega Cocaine bust off the coast of Cabo San Lucas

In actions recorded between February 14 and 15, elements of the Navy of Mexico located off the coast of Cabo San Lucas, in the Sea of ​​Cortes, 2 boats that transported 3 tons of cocaine, as well as 5 thousand liters of fuel, which were seized and the arrest of 6 subjects is reported.

The first action was carried out on February 14 of this year, after the persecution by air and sea of ​​a vessel with two outboard motors and three crew members on board, who was transporting alleged illicit cargo, at approximately 91 nautical miles ( 168 kilometers), south of Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur.

As a result of the foregoing, an Interceptor Patrol belonging to this Institution secured the aforementioned vessel with 127 drums, of which 107 contained fuel, while the other 20 were empty, with approximately five thousand liters of fuel seized; Said vessel was towed to Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur.

The third and last action was also carried out on February 15 after an air unit belonging to the Mexican Navy detected a boat with three outboard motors and three crew members, who were transporting alleged illicit cargo at approximately 68 nautical miles ( 125 kilometers) southwest of Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur.

Therefore, two aircraft of this Institution located the aforementioned vessel and at an approximate distance of 98 nautical miles (181 kilometers) northwest of Mazatlán, Sinaloa, an Interceptor Patrol secured it with three crew members on board, with approximately three tons of cocaine hydrochloride and six drums, being approximately 100 liters of fuel.

It should be noted that the foregoing was carried out based on the Action Protocol of Naval Personnel in Coast Guard functions, which attributes the participation of the personnel of the Secretary of the Navy-Navy of Mexico in the performance of their duties, acting as coordinated manner both with air, land and surface (sea) units, as well as with the competent authorities.
