The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT) has begun construction on the Bahía Asunción-La Bocana highway in Baja California Sur, with an investment of 460 million pesos.

The project involves modernizing a rural road, transforming it into a paved highway with a seven-meter-wide roadway, in compliance with technical safety standards.

As part of the construction, 26 drainage structures, 15 concrete slabs, and 11 fords will be built—essential elements to ensure the highway’s strength and durability under the region’s climatic conditions.

The state governor, Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío, emphasized that this road will benefit the North Pacific region, boosting the productive, economic, and social development of the municipality of Mulegé, as well as improving connectivity between the region’s communities.
